Grace Baptist Chapel
In the 1888, the African-American Baptist congregations began the work that led o the establishment of Grace Baptist Church. Grace Chapel, a mission of the First Baptist Church was the place of worship for African-American Baptists. In 1892, Martha Wilson donated a lot on the corner of Eighth Avenue and Third Street. First Baptist held the deed to the property in trust for the benefit of the African-American mission. The above structure was moved and is now White Rock Baptist Church at Fifth Avenue and Fourth Street. Circa, 1910.
Grace Chapel was sold to Unity Baptist Church and later White Rock Baptist. The Grace Chapel structure was moved and remains White Rock Baptist Church at 270 South Fifth Avenue at Fourth Street.
